Heating Oil FAQ
Frequently asked questions about heating oil
How does Wesson Energy’s automatic heating oil delivery work?
With automatic delivery, heating oil usage is based on the “degree day” system. Our system will automatically release your order when your tank level reaches approximately 25%.
How do I read my heating oil gauge?
We encourage all customers to familiarize themselves with their tank and equipment so they can help keep track of how much fuel they have on hand. Most above-ground tanks have a heating oil gauge. When the tank reaches 30% or so it is time for a delivery. If you have an underground tank or your tank does not have a gauge, we recommend that your account be set for automatic delivery to avoid running out of heating oil during the cold winter months.
What do I do if I run out of heating oil?
We want our customers to enjoy the benefits of heating oil warmth and to have the peace of mind of knowing that their heating system is in good working order. Automatic delivery is the best way to make this happen. If you’re a will-call customer and have run out of heating oil, your furnace may require a visit from a service technician. There is a fee for this. We recommend you call us when the oil tank is at 30%. Automatic customers have priority over will-call customers.
What should I do with my Wesson Energy heating oil account if I’m moving?
Please let us know in advance the date you wish to close or change account. If you’re on an automatic delivery schedule, we’ll need to pull your delivery ticket from our system. Please also send us a letter or an email so we can update our records. Any top-off deliveries will be cash on delivery only.
What are my Wesson Energy heating oil payment options?
Following credit approval, payments are due within 30 days of the delivery date. Payments can be made at our office, by phone, by mail, or to the driver when a delivery is made. A payment plan is also available with approved credit. This plan runs a full year, allowing you to have a monthly payment amount that we determine by estimating your usage. The 12th month is a settlement month, in which any remaining balance must be paid in full. If you’re interested in our payment plan, please call our office during regular business hours.
